Arcade Race is a simple racing game in 3D. Like in all racing games, the objective is to win the races to continue the game. The game offers two modes: Tournament and Single Race. Both modes offer three difficulty levels to choose from according to your skills. In Tournament, you race on the tracks in order, one by one, and you have to win all races in order to continue; whereas in the Single Race, you can choose to play on any available track.
In order to get first, you can use some of the bonuses that can help you defeat your opponents or win the race faster. These include missiles, mines, nitro-acceleration and non-susceptibility (defense). Before starting any race, you can choose the car with which you want to play, even the color.
The demo version offers only two cars, but there are many more. They all vary in acceleration, max speed, controllability and weight, so you should choose one according to your skills and driving style. Regarding the controls, they are really simple, since you control everything using keyboard keys. You move your car using the arrow keys, space to launch a rocket, and Ctrl to place a mine. The rest of the bonuses are instantly activated when you pick them up from the track.
As for the graphics, they are simple, but nice, although not really detailed. Sound effects are average and the music is suitable. In short, Arcade race is just a simple racing game to kill some time, but don't expect anything sophisticated or original, because you won't get it here.
